The highly anticipated trailer for “The Matrix Resurrections” has been released and it sends Keanu Reeves down a trippy alternate reality.
In the trailer for the fourth movie in “The Matrix” series, you see Reeves, as Thomas Anderson, speaking to a psychiatrist, played by Neil Patrick Harris, about “dreams that weren’t just dreams” and being unable to remember the past, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Reeves at one point meets a stranger who seems very familiar to him: Trinity, played by Carrie-Anne Moss.
Like in the original film, Reeves is given an opportunity to choose which reality he wants to exist in as he is presented with a red and blue pill, not by Laurence Fishburne’s Morpheus, but instead, a character played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The trailer is underscored by Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit.”
“The Matrix Resurrections” will be released both in theaters and on HBO Max on Dec. 22.
