Erica Campbell is a renowned American CCM singer and songwriter with a sound rooted in urban contemporary gospel and contemporary R&B. She started her career in the late 1990s with her sister Tina in the duo Mary Mary, winning multiple awards including four Grammys. Erica's solo debut, Help (2014), won a Grammy for Best Gospel Album, with follow-ups Help 2.0 (2015) and I Love You (2023), reaching the upper echelons of the gospel charts. In addition to her musical work, Campbell hosts the syndicated podcast Get Up! Mornings with Erica Campbell and has appeared in films like Sister Act 2 and The Fighting Temptations.
Inglewood, California native Erica Campbell is the older sister of Tina Campbell and the wife of frequent creative collaborator Warryn Campbell. Beside Tina, as Mary Mary -- a duo produced by Warryn -- Erica was among the most successful contemporary gospel artists of the 2000s and early 2010s. From their 2000 debut through 2012, each of Mary Mary's studio albums either topped or narrowly missed the top of Billboard's Gospel Albums chart. The duo also won a handful of Grammy Awards. Erica's first solo album, the eclectic Help, was released in March 2014 and received a Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album. Almost all of its songs were co-written by Erica and Warryn, while Warryn handled all the production work. Led by the singles "A Little More Jesus" (a rustic, triumphant shouter) and "Help" (a steady, organic shuffle with a guest verse from Lecrae), it entered Billboard's Gospel Albums chart at number one and peaked at number six on the all-genre Billboard 200, eventually bringing home the Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album. The well-received Help 2.0, her sophomore release, arrived in 2015 and rose to the top of the gospel and independent album charts.
In 2018, Erica and Warryn released the single "All of My Life," and in 2022, she issued "Positive," the lead track from her forthcoming third long-player. Appearing in 2023, the Grammy-nominated I Love You saw Campbell deliver an assured effort that included guest spots from Jerry Peters, PJ Morton, D Smoke, and Stevie Wonder. In 2025, Campbell, Israel Houghton, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Jonathan McReynolds, and Jekalyn Carr received the Best Gospel Performance/Song Grammy for contributing to the worship anthem "One Hallelujah."~ Andy Kellman
