(Atlanta, GA) - There wasn’t a dry eye under the roof of the Georgia World Congress Center as Bishop T.D. Jakes announced that he will decrease and watch as God increases his daughter Sarah in a powerful passing of the torch.
While anointing Sarah, Bishop Jakes said, “With every drop of oil that falls upon your head, may the strength and power of the Almighty God rest upon your life.”
Over 22,000 people watched on as ‘Woman, Thou Art Loosed! became Woman Evolve. Bishop told his daughter, “I have watched you grow from my baby girl into a leader, changemaker and influencer with a reach far beond generations of women. You’ve touched the lives of so many and as your earthly father, I’ve never been prouder! It is my distinct honor to pass the torch to you. You’ve earned it and will excel wherever God takes you for women’s empowerment! May God bless Woman Evolve in 2023. "
Woman, Thou Art Loosed! started back in 1992 as Sunday School curriculum and has since birthed a best-selling book, stage play, Grammy nominated album, top-10 hit movie and a national conference that has become a global movement for women. I asked Bishop Jakes what this part of his legacy means to him and he said, “Never in a thousand years would I have ever thought that it would become what it is. It was totally God. The most fulfilling thing about Woman, Thou Art Loosed! to me is to look into the eyes of the women and to see their healing. That kind of healing and touch is the result of hours and hours of therapy that we often don’t go to.”
