Six-pack plastic rings on Coke and Bud packages replaced with cardboard carriers

Coca-Cola and AB InBev are ready to release new packaging in Europe next year to help reduce plastic in the ocean after the European Union announced that single-use plastic will be banned in 2021, Fast Company reports.

The new design created by Graphic Packaging International called KeelClip not only reduces plastic, but it also adds more marketing space. Read more here.

It is important to remember that reducing is just as important as recycling – both should be complementary to each other. Coca-cola is one which has adopted this ideology strongly. By the end of 2021, Coca-cola aims to replace their plastic wraps on can multipacks across Europe with KeelClip – a minimalist paperboard packaging in efforts to reduce plastic waste.
